Georgia’s Top 30 Wrestlers from 2010-2019
We here at Georgia Grappler have decided to post the Top 30 (actually Top 40) wrestlers from 2010-2019, that means if they wrestled in high school this past season, they weren’t eligible. The rankings were based on researched accomplishments in both HS and College as well as our own opinions based on what we saw when they wrestled here in Georgia. These are for fun, so please enjoy them and understand that we all have differing opinions. The rankings are not meant to slight anyone, but really to highlight and recognize those that competed here in the last decade.

A class of 2016 graduate from Archer HS, Diaz was a big part of a monster lineup that featured numerous Division 1 signees. His career got off to a great start finishing as the state runner up as a Freshman at 132 lbs, he followed that up with another runner up finish as a sophomore at 126 lbs. He finished out his high school career winning back to back titles his junior and senior year at 132 and 145, respectively.
On the national circuit, Diaz earned NHSCA All-American honors at all four grade level Nationals. He was 3rd at Freshman Nationals, finished 2nd at both Sophomore and Junior Nationals, and he capped it off by finishing 6th at Senior Nationals. During his run at Senior Nationals, Diaz advanced to the semifinals before falling to Jarrett Degen (Currently at Iowa State) by a score of 7-5. After dropping that match in the semis, he defaulted out to 6th place. Ranked as the #99 recruit of the Class of 2016 by Intermat Wrestling, Diaz went on to sign with North Carolina State.
Hunt is a 4x Georgia State Champion from the Class of 2019. He won his first 3 titles competing for Sonoraville, winning at 113, 120, and 132. As a senior he transferred to Dalton HS, where once again won the title at 132 lbs.
Prior to the start of his Junior season, Hunt placed 6th at Super 32 at 126 lbs, during the tournament he notched an impressive 14-1 major decision win over Mosha Schwartz. Following his 4th State Title, Tyler went on to finish 2nd at the NHSCA Senior Nationals, losing to Chris Cannon from NJ.
Hunt signed to wrestle at Navy, and competed at the Naval Academy Prep School for the 2019-2020 season. He put together a 16-6 record on the season, which included a 2-2 showing at the always tough Southern Scuffle.
Tomlinson was a 2012 graduate of Henry Co high school, where he was a 3 sport athlete. He is best known for his prowess on the football field, he was a dominant wrestler, and also played Soccer.
Dalvin was a 3x Champion at heavyweight including a 9 second pin in the finals his senior season. Tomlinson didn’t have any of the postseason National accolades that everyone else on this list had, but he was one of the most dominant wrestlers I have ever seen.
Tomlinson went on to play football for the University of Alabama, where he was apart of two National Championship teams, and in 2017 he was drafted in the 2nd round by the New York Giants.
